How can I get groceries after curfew?

4/20/2020

A friend sent me a link where you can register to go out after curfew if needed to buy groceries.  Personally, I don't have a problem getting them during the day before curfew starts, but if you have a need it could be worth trying:

Kuwait has made some bold moves lately in an effort to combat the spread of the Covid-19 corona virus.  This is the latest, a partial curfew starting at 5pm daily and ending at 4am.  Thank you Kuwait for doing everything you can to keep your citizens and expats safe during these trying times:  https://news.kuwaittimes.net/website/kuwait-imposes-partial-curfew-amid-12-new-coronavirus-cases/

Ramadan 2017 in Kuwait - Places to Eat

5/29/2017

Once again, Mark at 2:48am posted an excellent list of restaurants that have Iftar specials in Kuwait:  http://248am.com/mark/food/ramadan-buffets-in-kuwait-2017/#comments

Most people don't realize it, but many restaurants will deliver food to your home during the day.  The best way to find them is to visit Talabat.  Talabat will let you see the restaurants that deliver in your area, and you can sort by the ones that are open.  Many start delivering around 3:00pm (give or take), but there are a few that start in the morning.

RTC Electronics

The other day I had a power supply for a electronic device fail.  Normally this would be the end of the device, but this time I took the pwoer supply to RTC Electronics.  They were able to repair the device for me and it only cost 3KD!  Now my device is working again.  It would have been time consuming and expensive to order a new power supply from the US.  RTC saved the day.

Do you need server cabinets, cable trays, led lighting, cables, wires, tools, testers, etc?  Do you like to build or repair your own electonic devices?  Check out RTC at: http://www.rtc-electronics.com.kw/

Things to do in Kuwait - Mishref Fairgrounds

There are frequent exhibitions at the Mishref Fairground, but I usually miss most of them because we don't hear about them.  Today I learned that there is a Watch and Perfume exhibition from 25 October to 05 November and a Autumn market from 23 November to 3 December.

Klean, the new online Laundry/Shoe service in Kuwait

10/12/2016

Previously we wrote about Masbagti, a new smart phone app that made laundry pick up and delivery super easy!  Now there is a competitor.  Klean now has apps for both iPhone and Android and promises the same type of service Masbagti offers.  Klean also offers shoe care and repair!  I am very happy with Masbagti, but I plan to try Klean simply because they can help with shoe care and repair.

Kuwait, where everything delivers!  Gotta love it :)

Update:  I had them pick up clothes and shoes today.  They showed up on time during the window we selected.  They then e-mailed me an order confirmation with prices.  I'll let you know what I think after they drop off, but so far, so good.

Samsung Galaxy S7 is no longer being sold

10/12/2016

It is sad but true.  One of the sexiest and best Smart Phones ever made is no longer being manufactured or sold.  It's sad, because I really wanted one.  Samsung just couldn't resolve their safety issues.  The initial round of phones reportedly caught fire.  Samsung initiated a recall (see the previous post), but the replacement phones seem to be having issues as well.  Samsung has decided to stop making the Note 7.  If you have a Note 7, you are eligible to get a refund or switch it for another model.  II personally like the Galaxy Edge S7, but it may be time to consider one of the new iPhones (I keep going back and forth between Android and iOS).  For more info, go to: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-37618618

The bottom line is this:  BE SAFE!!!  Don't take a chance on getting hurt or causing a fire in your home.  If you have a Note 7, turn it off and stop using it.  go back to where you bought the phone, or go straight to a Samsung Service Center (Click Here).  No matter what anyone says, you should be able to get an exchange or your money back.

Please add a comment with your experiences trying to return or exchange in Kuwait.
